Javelin Rating Options
Time/Date Based Rating
Applies specific rates down to single hour level with single day date sensitivity. Identifies peak, off-peak, weekend, holiday times.
Rates per byte and defines unique upload/download units, initial free amount thresholds, and minimum amounts. eg: 1000 bytes base unit, 1000 bytes minimum upload/download, 1000 bytes free upload, 5000 bytes free download.
(Length of Transaction)
Rates per second and defines a minimum duration, a dropped call duration, and free initial duration. eg: 30 seconds minimum duration, 10 seconds drop period, 20 seconds free (wrong number policy) duration.
Transactions charged at a flat rate as they occur, allows a set number of free (or reduced rate) initial transactions. eg: MP3 downloads charged at US$3 per download after 5 free downloads.
Rates defined by geographical regions using cell site values. eg: a group of cell sites is defined as a Central Business District and higher rates are charged in this area to off-set the cost of higher traffic processing.
Transactions charges vary according to usage such as URL or Access Point Name (APN). eg: a single MP3 download is charged at a different rate compared to a stock price update.
Service Provider Rating
Transaction charges vary depending on who supplies the content or application using actual URL or APN. eg: a service provider charges less for MP3 downloads through a defined partner website promoting partner revenue/ market share growth.
Quality of Service (QoS) Rating
Transaction charges based on QoS promised to customer versus QoS delivered. eg: a table of QoS threshold levels is established. A price/rate for service is defined for each level and customers are only charged based on what they actually receive.
